Dear Mr. Dinesh Perera,

My daughter-in-law and my son gave me the Spice Blending Collection for my birthday.  I absolutely love it.  And you are right, it has opened horizons and enlightened my palate.  I made many of the recipes that were included with the collection.  I do love the Tandoori Chicken.  (But I have to admit I lessened the amount of cayenne. Timid western palate)  I have always been fond of curry and spicy foods but have rarely made them.  I also found a cookbook by Madhur Jaffery called Quick and Easy Indian Cooking.  Of course it called for many of the spices that I now own.

In short, thank you very much.  This of course also shows how clever my children are....

Having been raised in an Italian-American household, I was always comfortable in the kitchen, whether preparing American, European or Asian meals. However, I had never attempted what I would consider Indian-type cuisine. When I received The Spicy Gourmet Spice Blending Collection as a gift, I was hesitant but curious. This was a completely new cooking adventure. I tried several recipes from the recipe booklet, and realized that grinding and blending these exotic spices was fun!

Now, less than four months later, I can confidently say that I have successfully expanded my culinary repertoire. I have found additional recipes in food magazines and on the Internet that I previously would not have attempted. Additionally, I am very choosy about the quality of ingredients I use when preparing meals for my family, and feel good knowing that these spices are free trade and organic. I highly recommend The Spicy Gourmet product to anyone who enjoys creating in the kitchen.

"I've always loved Indian food, but in many years of cooking, I made only a couple of Indian dishes because the spices seemed complicated. The Spicy Gourmet changed that. He makes spices simple with a step-by-step approach to creating incredibly aromatic regional spice blends from scratch. The blends can then be used again and again in stove-top simple dishes that fill the house with fantastic aromas. It's great fun, and Indian, Sri Lankan and Thai dishes are now a regular part of my repertoire."

"I am writing to thank you for providing your most excellent spices. They have become an irreplaceable component in many of our favorite recipes. The most outstanding of which is our bechamel sauce which uses your Ceylon Mace instead of the traditional nutmeg (although your Ceylon Nutmeg is also fantastic)."
